Client: Fumbally Exchange
Location: Dame Lane, Dublin 2
Role: Main Contractor
Contract Value: €0.4m
Description: Azure was responsible for the interior fit-out at Number 5, Dame Lane for Fumbally Exchange. Fumbally Exchange is geared towards, and is home to, self-employed entrepreneurs, design-focused small businesses, sole traders and start-ups. The renovation works were carried out within a short time frame of four weeks.
The works involved with this project included the demolition and removal of existing modular offices to create a state of the art open plan office environment.
All existing ceiling tiles were removed and the existing timber rafters and ceiling joists were left exposed to give a unique industrial office feel. The voids between the rafters were filled with 80mm TR27 Kingspan Thermaroof insulation which provided the required thermal U –values.
All existing floor finishes were removed; floors were prepared to receive a new carpet finish throughout.
The Exchange include architects, graphic designers, web designers, illustrators, photographers, translators, journalists, product developers, branding consultants, project managers, engineers, landscape architects, 3D visual artists, joiners, voluntary housing social enterprise, recycling and community projects, and design organisations.
With this diversity in mind, Azure successfully ensured that the works, including the electrical, mechanical and data installation, were carried out and co-ordinated seamlessly.
What Fumbally Exchange a unique business model is the special combination of a creative ethos, a co-working space, a holistic philosophy, a commitment to excellence and, perhaps most significantly, the social impact agenda of the organisation.
